Renegade Immortal Novel Chapter 2

Chapter 2 – Immortal

As the bullet train sped along the road, Wang Lin’s body swayed on the uneven ground. In his hands was a package containing all his parents’ hopes. He was leaving the village where he had lived for 15 years.

The journey wouldn’t be short. Wang Lin lay down and fell asleep in the carriage. Without knowing how much time had passed, he was gently nudged. He opened his eyes and looked up to see Fourth Uncle, who was looking at him with a smile and asking, “Tie Zhu, how do you feel about leaving home for the first time?”

Wang Lin noticed the carriage had stopped and smiled. “There’s nothing much to say, just a little anxious because I don’t know if I’ll be chosen by the gods or not.”

Fourth Uncle laughed and patted Tie Zhu on the shoulder, saying, “Okay, don’t think too much about it. This is my uncle’s house. You get some rest first, and then I’ll take you to the family home tomorrow morning.”

When he got off the carriage, Wang Lin was already in front of a tiled house. He then followed Fourth Uncle to a room. Wang Lin sat on the bed, unable to sleep. The things his parents, his village, and his relatives had said flashed through his mind. He wrote them down silently. The thought of becoming an immortal’s disciple grew heavier in his mind.

Time passed bit by bit. A moment later, the sun gradually rose. Wang Lin hadn’t gotten much rest all night, but he was still full of energy. With some trepidation, he followed Fourth Uncle to the Wang family’s main house.

This was Wang Lin’s first time seeing such a large house, leaving him stunned. Fourth Uncle said as he walked, “Tie Zhu, you must make your father proud. Don’t let your relatives make fun of you.”

Wang Lin’s mind became even more tense. He bit his lip and nodded.

Soon, Fourth Uncle led him to the center of the courtyard. Tie Zhu’s father’s eldest brother was standing there. When he saw Tie Zhu, he nodded and said, “Tie Zhu, when the deity comes, don’t panic. Just follow your brother Wang Zhuo. Do whatever he tells you to do.”

The old man’s tone was very harsh in his last few words.

Wang Lin remained silent. He looked around and noticed that beside Wang Zhuo was another young man. His skin was slightly dark, his build was very large, and his eyes held a hint of intelligence. There was a bulge in his clothes, as if he was hiding something.

He looked at Tie Zhu and frowned, then ran over and said, “So, you’re Second Uncle’s son? My name is Wang Hao.”

Wang Lin chuckled and nodded.

When the old man saw Wang Lin ignoring him, he became very annoyed and wanted to scold him.

Just at this moment, the clouds in the sky suddenly parted. Then, a sword of light suddenly descended like lightning. After the light disappeared, a white-clothed youth stood there, his eyes bright and sharp, exuding an elegant aura. His cold gaze swept over the three youths, especially the youth with the bulge in his clothes. He asked coldly, “Are these three the ones recommended by the Wang family?”

“Is this an immortal?”   Under his gaze, Wang Lin began to feel cold. His heart pounded, and his face paled as he stared at the immortal.

The dark-skinned youth, upon seeing the immortal, placed his hands in his trouser pockets, showing respect. His eyes revealed a fanatical expression.

Only Wang Zhuo casually glanced at the others and snorted.

Wang Zhuo’s father quickly stepped forward and said respectfully, “Immortal, these three people are recommendations from the Wang family.”

The young man nodded and said impatiently, “Who is Wang Zhuo?”

The old man’s face showed a hint of happiness, then he quickly pulled Wang Zhuo over. “Immortal, this is my son, Wang Zhuo.”

The young immortal stared intently at Wang Zhou. Then his face lit up and he nodded. “Wang Zhou is indeed talented; no wonder Martial Uncle likes him.”

Wang Zhou proudly looked at Wang Lin and the intelligent-looking young man and said proudly, “This is only natural. To become immortal, one must have a strong soul.”

The young man frowned, but the frown quickly disappeared. He smiled faintly at Wang Zhuo, waved his sleeve, and led the three young men into the rainbow and disappeared.

Fourth Uncle looked up at the sky and muttered, “Tie Zhu, you must be chosen!”

Wang Lin felt his body become lighter, and the wind that hit his face caused pain. Upon closer inspection, he realized that he was under the young man’s arm, and they were flying rapidly through the sky. The village turned into tiny black dots as they flew rapidly forward.

After a while, the wind caused his eyes to water and redden.

“Unless you three want to go blind, close your eyes,” the young man said coldly. Wang Lin’s heart tightened, and he immediately closed his eyes, afraid to continue looking.

After a while, Wang Lin could sense that the young man was running out of breath and his speed was starting to slow. Then, in an instant, the young man rapidly descended. Just before landing, the young man loosened his arms, and the three young men fell to the ground.

Fortunately, the fall wasn’t too hard, so the three of them quickly got up. In front of Wang Lin was a paradise-like scene, with mountains, flowers, and rivers. It was truly a beautiful sight.

Directly ahead stood a towering mountain, its peak shrouded in clouds, obscuring its true appearance. The echoes of wild beasts’ cries could be heard. A winding path wound down the mountain, like a painting, evoking the feeling of a different world.

Far in the distance, there’s a hall on a mountaintop. Although obscured by clouds, its bright light makes people want to worship it.

Next to the pavilion there is a silver bridge in the shape of a crescent moon that connects the peak with other mountain peaks.

With such natural beauty, this place truly deserves to be the location of the Heng Yue Sect. The Heng Yue Sect is one of the few cultivation sects in the State of Zhao. 500 years ago, this sect was a leading cultivation force in the State of Zhao and boasted several Nascent Soul realm old monsters. However, over time, the sect has dwindled to its current size, barely able to survive in the cultivation world.

However, for the ordinary humans near the Heng Yue Sect, the figure was still elusive.

“Little Brother Zhang, are these the three candidates recommended by the Wang family?” A middle-aged man dressed in black with an immortal demeanor floated down from the mountain peak.

The young man showed a face full of respect and said, “Third Brother, these are the three young men the Wang family recommended.”

The middle-aged man’s gaze swept over them, focusing several times on Wang Zhou. With a smile, he said, “I knew you’d achieve a breakthrough soon. I’ll handle the test, you go cultivate.”

The young man agreed, then his body moved towards the mountain, and disappeared without a trace in the blink of an eye.

Wang Lin stared at the scene before him with excitement. Suddenly, he saw someone pulling his clothes and turning around. It was Wang Hao. With eyes full of excitement, he said, “This is where the gods live, damn it. No matter what happens, I, Wang Hao, must be chosen.” After saying that, he touched the protruding object hidden under his clothes. Chapter 2 – Immortal
