Chapter 51 – Entering the Stage (1)
Meanwhile, his body moved and he appeared on the stage. He looked down at the Heng Yue Sect disciples with an arrogant expression and said, “All of you Heng Yue Sect core disciples can come at once. I, Zhou Peng, will fight you all!”
The followers of the Heng Yue Sect were in an uproar. Even the elders of the Heng Yue Sect frowned.
None of the Xuan Dao Sect members said anything. They only showed respectful expressions. It seemed this person’s status was not low in the Xuan Dao Sect.
Elder Ouyang coughed and shouted, “Friend Huang Long, this is Zhou Peng. He is the chief disciple of our Xuan Dao Sect! Let this match decide everything. If any of the Heng Yue Sect disciples can last 10 seconds, then the Heng Yue Sect wins.”
Zhang Kuang’s eyes lit up. He moved his body, landed on the stage, and said heavily, “You arrogant son of a bitch. I will test you!”
Zhou Peng laughed and said, “You? You seem to be at the 6th layer of Qi Condensation, but you’re hiding your true strength. You’re actually at the 8th layer. You’re not strong enough.” As he spoke, a cold light flashed across his eyes. He waved his right hand, and a black snake suddenly leaped out and grew into a giant python.
The python’s enormous head stared coldly at Zhang Kuang’s terrified face. It opened its mouth and sucked in air, producing an unimaginable suction force.
The suction was very strange. Only Zhang Kuang felt it, no one else.
Zhang Kuang had no strength to resist. Before he could use any technique, his body was like a kite with its string broken and was sucked toward the python.
Zhou Peng sneered. He raised his right hand and grabbed Zhang Kuang by the neck. He said, “Go back and train for a few dozen years before coming back to me!” After that, he threw Zhang Kuang out with his right hand.
The last remaining purple-clothed disciple went to catch Zhang Kuang, but was unable to withstand the force, so they both slid across the ground for a great distance before finally coming to a stop.
Zhang Kuang’s face was extremely pale. His eyes were closed, and his body was trembling constantly. There was a black handprint on his neck, as if a hand had gripped his throat tightly.
The purple-clothed disciple who caught him showed a horrified expression and fell silent.
Huang Long’s heart was filled with bitterness. The chief disciple of the Xuan Dao Sect was simply too powerful. Based on what had just happened, this person was at least at the 10th Layer. He must have had a talisman concealing his cultivation, so his exact level was unknown.
Then, he looked at the core disciples around him. Huang Long sighed. Even the prime disciple, who was with the Core Formation elders, didn’t have a good chance of winning, as he was only at the 10th layer. If he lost this fight, the Heng Yue Sect would be utterly defeated!
Huang Long smiled wryly. “Alright. Looks like my Heng Yue Sect has no hope. Quickly, inform the two ancestors of what Old Man Ouyang said so they can make a decision. If what he said is true, then there’s no hope of defending Heng Yue Peak.”
Zhou Peng arrogantly looked at the people around him and asked, “Who’s next?”
All the Heng Yue Sect disciples were stunned. None of them spoke, and all of them lowered their heads as they stared at Zhou Peng, as none of them wanted to step forward.
Zhou Peng sneered. He looked down on them in his heart. However, as his gaze swept over the disciples, he was stunned to realize that there was a third-grade disciple who wasn’t afraid of his gaze.
Wang Lin’s expression remained calm as he stared at Zhou Peng.
Zhou Peng looked at Wang Lin and asked coldly, “What? You want to come?”
Zhou Peng’s words caught everyone’s attention. When they realized that Zhou Peng’s words were directed at Wang Lin, their expressions all turned strange.
Huang Long sighed. Wang Lin was only at the 3rd layer and normally wouldn’t be seen among the disciples, but now, despite his low cultivation, his courage was commendable.
Zhou Peng, seeing Wang Lin not responding, sneered, “Of the four battles, there’s still one left. The Heng Yue Sect is such a large sect, yet no one dares to step forward. I’m so disappointed! Are none of your core disciples brave enough to step forward?”
Elder Xu, who was standing next to Huang Long, said, “Sorry, junior brother Sun. Wang Lin, go away!”
Sun Dazhu was stunned and immediately realized what was going on. He said angrily, “Dao Xu, even though you are my senior brother, you can’t humiliate me like this! My disciple is only at the 3rd layer! Letting him go up will only make me lose face! Don’t think I don’t know what you’re thinking! Their sect’s chief disciple is too strong, so you’re all afraid that your disciples will be defeated, humiliated, and hurt, so you sent my disciple as a scapegoat. My disciple has always been considered trash in the school, so, even if he loses, you can make excuses. I refuse to agree to such a shameful thing.”
Dao Xu frowned. He did have such thoughts, but Sun Dazhu didn’t give him any face and said all of this in front of the Xuan Dao Sect.
He sneered. His eyes stared at the head of the Huang Long sect and sent several messages.
Huang Long sighed and said, “Little Brother Sun, don’t talk anymore. Wang Lin, you go!”
Sun Dazhu angrily threw up his sleeves to that size and looked up at the sky with a mocking smile on his face.
Wang Lin clasped his hands together and respectfully exclaimed, “As you command!”
After that, he took a deep breath, then slowly stepped forward and headed towards the stage.
All the Xuan Dao Sect disciples started to jeer at him loudly.
“Heng Yue Sect, you have no shame, sending scum to compete with our eldest fellow scholars.”
“Our college brother doesn’t even need to deal with this trash! I can kill him with just my thumb!”
“Senior Brother, they’ve already given up. Just send someone else to deal with him. He’s truly pathetic. Be kind and just send him away without hurting him.”
Elder Ouyang looked at the two elders with a look of disdain. He laughed and said, “Today, I truly know the true Huang Long and Heng Yue Sects!”
Huang Long’s face turned gloomy. Without a word, he waved his sleeve and left. He hadn’t placed any hope in Wang Lin. He had only sent Wang Lin as bait to end the final match. In this exchange, he had accepted defeat.
After all, even if he lost, if word got out, it wouldn’t be too bad. However, if word got out that no one dared to fight, that would be truly embarrassing.
Not a single inner disciple dared to go up, so he could only send Wang Lin.
Behind him, all the elders of the Heng Yue Sect shook their heads and turned to leave.
Even his followers inside began to move their feet, not wanting to linger and lose more face.
