Chapter 5365: Don’t Know What’s Good For You
Zi Yuan’s face was a little gloomy; she knew Ao Lie’s temper.
His tenth rank in the martial arts rankings made him very arrogant, and he never took cultivators from lower realms seriously.
However, he also understood David’s strength, and immediately said coldly, “Commander Ao, the king has given an order, and you must obey it. If you feel it would be embarrassing to compete with Fellow Daoist Chen, send one of your men to try.”
Ao Lie thought for a moment, and decided that sending someone would fulfill the king’s orders while also preserving his own dignity. He waved to the edge of the martial arts arena, “Shi Hu, come here!”
A burly, pale-faced Imperial Guard captain quickly stepped forward and knelt on one knee, “Commander!”
Although Shi Hu was a seventh level cultivator in the Earthly Immortal Realm, renowned for his bravery among the Imperial Guards, even an ordinary eighth level cultivator in the Earthly Immortal Realm might not be his match.
“I have a mission for you,”
Ao Lie said casually, pointing at David. “Go spar with that Daoist Chen. Remember, be gentle and don’t hurt anyone. After all, he’s only a first-stage Earth Immortal cultivator. If anything goes wrong, the king will blame you, and you won’t be able to bear the consequences.”
“Yes!”
Shi Hu stood up and looked at David with disgust, as if he was looking at an ant ready to be stepped on.
He flexed his wrists, his bones crunching, and grinned grimly, “Son, if you know what’s good for you, admit defeat. Otherwise, I’ll knock you down and humiliate you.”
David glanced at him calmly without saying a word. He walked straight to the middle of the martial arts arena and signaled “help” to Shi Hu.
“You don’t know what’s good for you!”
Shi Hu snorted coldly. In a flash, he pounced like a tiger, clenching his fist. Golden spiritual energy gathered in his fist, forming sharp claws, and with a whistling sound, he struck David’s chest.
The blow was powerful and devastating, clearly devoid of any remorse. He believed that against a first-stage Earth Immortal cultivator, he didn’t need to exert his full strength.
The imperial guards around him held their breath. They were certain David would be seriously injured, perhaps even killed.
However, Zi Yuan remained calm. She had seen the speed with which David had slashed Wei Feng’s arm, and knew that Shi Hu’s seemingly vicious blow would likely not injure him at all.
Sure enough, just as his fist was about to hit David, David suddenly disappeared.
Shi Hu’s punch missed, startling him. Before he could react, he felt a pain in the back of his neck. A tremendous force rushed through him, sending him flying like a kite whose string had snapped. With a thud, he landed hard on the black ironstone floor, sending up a cloud of dust.
“What?”
Ao Lie’s eyes flashed with surprise. He hadn’t even seen David move.
Shi Hu struggled to stand, his face filled with disbelief.
. He touched the back of his neck, feeling a sharp pain. It was clear that if the blow had been a little harder, his neck would have been broken.
“Son, how dare you attack secretly!”
roared Shi Hu, charging again.
This time, he wasn’t afraid to act rashly. Golden divine patterns illuminated his body, and a spiritual sword formed in his hand. With a flash of light, he charged toward David.
David remained calm, his figure moving like a ghost amidst the flashes of swords. No matter how fast Shi Hu’s blade was, it couldn’t touch the hem of his shirt.
Every now and then, David launched a punch or kick, each landing right on Shi Hu’s weak spot.
“Bang!” “Crash!” “Ah!”
Screams echoed continuously, and Shi Hu’s body was soon covered in wounds. David kicked the spiritual sword away.
Finally, David grabbed Shi Hu’s wrist and twisted it slowly. With a loud “crack” sound, Shi Hu’s arm broke.
“I lose…”
Shi Hu could no longer hold on and fell to the ground, gasping for breath, his eyes filled with fear as he stared at David.
