Chapter 5437 of the Dragon Emperor’s Order: How are you?
About half an hour later, a rumbling sound came from the distant sky. The golden-armored guards who had left earlier returned, accompanied by two cultivators with even more powerful auras.
The leader, clad in silver battle armor and with a stern face, wore a token engraved with “Divine King Palace” at his waist, clearly the leader of the golden-armored guards.
“The Fourth Palace Master has ordered us to take him to the palace,”
the silver-armored commander said in a deep voice. His gaze scanned David’s injuries, a flash of shock flashing in his eyes. To be able to withstand the counterattacks from the heavens of two realms with a cultivation of the second level of the Earth Immortal Realm and still survive—such resilience was truly rare.
The two golden-armored guards stepped forward, carefully lifting David and supporting him with their arms as he stepped onto a flying magic instrument.
The instrument transformed into a streak of golden light and flew skyward.
David looked down, seeing the grasslands below him spread out like a green velvet carpet, and the distant mountains undulating. The immortal aura was so dense it felt almost tangible, a stark contrast to the silence and darkness of the Sixth Heaven.
After flying for about an hour, the outline of a magnificent palace slowly emerged from the mist ahead.
The palace was constructed entirely of white jade, and its roof was covered with golden tiles that glistened brilliantly in the sunlight. Countless sacred runes flowed on the palace walls, exuding a majestic aura that oppressed all.
The palace was surrounded by nine pillars of golden light, which pierced the clouds. Guards in golden armor could faintly be seen patrolling between the pillars, their auras suffocating.
“That’s the Palace of the God King,”
whispered a guard in golden armor beside him, his voice filled with awe that was hard to conceal. “Since the ancient war of the gods, the Palace of the God King has been the sacred land of the Eight Heavens, jointly ruled by the four palace masters, who protect the temple’s heritage.”
The magical instrument slowly descended onto the square in front of the Divine King Palace. In the center stood a massive statue, clad in imperial robes and holding a scepter. Its gaze gazed majestically at the creatures in the ancient temple.
David, assisted by guards in golden armor, crossed the square. With each step he took on the rune-engraved white jade tiles, he felt a gentle force envelop his body, soothing his pain.
Passing through layers of palace gates, they arrived at a grand hall known as “Qingxu Palace.”
A woman stood before the gate. Upon seeing her, the silver-armored commander stopped and bowed respectfully toward the hall. “Miss Yunxiu, the Sixth Heavenly Layer cultivator David has been brought here. Please report to the Fourth Palace Master.”
David glanced at Yunxiu, immediately elated. After all, they were old acquaintances; Yunxiu had once saved him.
“Miss Yunxiu, how are you?”
David greeted with a broad smile.
Seeing David like this, Yunxiu said with some surprise, “Your strength has grown too quickly. You’ve already reached the second level of the Earthly Immortal Realm.”
“Miss Yunxiu, you’re joking. Compared to you, my strength is not enough.”
David said embarrassedly.
“Don’t be so modest. The Fourth Palace Master knows everything you do.”
Yunxiu smiled. It was clear that David’s every move was under the Fourth Palace Master’s watch.
David was stunned for a moment and then smiled helplessly.
“Let him in.” A cold and gentle female voice came from the hall, like the clash of jade, with an indescribable majesty.
Yunxiu waved her hand, and the silver-armored commander left, then walked slowly with David.
The inside of the hall was very spacious. On a high platform in the center was a white jade chair, and in it sat a woman dressed in light blue palace robes.
She looked no more than twenty years old, her skin whiter than snow, her face as beautiful as a painting, and a faint blue aura enveloped her
. Although she didn’t exude an imposing aura, she still instilled a sense of awe in him—she was Lingxi, the Fourth Palace Master of the Divine King Palace. Lingxi’s gaze fell on David, her brows slightly furrowed, her clear eyes filled with suspicion.
She waved her hand, releasing a stream of blue spiritual energy that enveloped David’s body. A moment later, the energy dissipated, his suspicions growing stronger. “Nearly half of your meridians are damaged, your soul is eroded by the power of law, and your cultivation is limited to the first level of the Earthly Immortal Realm.”
