The little fire unicorn shrank and landed on his shoulder, nuzzling his face and whimpering as if seeking praise.

David raised his hand and patted its head: “Alright, alright, I know you’re tough. I’ll give you extra food tonight, plenty of it.”

After resting for a while, David began to clean up the battlefield.

The original beasts of the void have no flesh and blood, but when they die, their essence crystallizes into beast cores.

David had heard before that the beast cores of native Void beasts were top-tier materials for refining Void Treasures, and a single one was priceless, not to mention the beast core of that Beast King.

He searched around and collected dozens of beast cores.

The beast cores of those strange beasts were about the size of a thumb, completely black, but inside they were filled with tiny specks of light, like miniature starry skies. They were cool to the touch, like jade, and carried a pure aura of the void.

David weighed the beast core in his hand, beaming with joy: “Good stuff, enough to exchange for quite a few spirit stones when we get back.”

Finally, he walked to the ruins of the Beast King’s collapsed body.

The Beast King’s beast core was the size of a human head, grayish-white in color, covered with a layer of black scales, and faintly revealed the patterns of stars, like a sleeping star core.

David reached out and took the Beast King Pill into his palm. It felt heavy in his hand, and a powerful surge of void essence flowed up his arm, causing his entire body’s aura to tremble.

David’s heart skipped a beat: “This thing is the best of the best.”

He carefully put away the Beast King Pill and was about to turn and leave when his gaze suddenly stopped.

Deep within the collapsed remains of the Beast King, something was gleaming.

David brushed aside the layers of ashes, revealing a ring.

It was a jade ring, bluish-gray in color, as if it were polished from an unknown jade. It was warm and smooth, yet it exuded an indescribable chill.

David picked up the ring, twirled it on his fingertip, and examined it closely in the dim light—the surface of the ring was engraved with dense patterns, the patterns were extremely fine, as if they were engraved bit by bit with a needle tip.

In the very center of the pattern, a monster is carved.

The monster had three heads and six arms.

The three heads each face a different direction, and the six arms either hold weapons or form hand seals, their ferocious appearance vividly displayed.

The monster was covered in fine scales, each scale engraved with tiny runes, densely packed, as if recording some ancient secret.

The patterns beneath the monster’s feet were concentric ripples, as if it were standing on the surface of some bottomless water.

David frowned: “What is this thing? The Beast King has this thing in its mouth?”

He looked at it over and over for a long time, but couldn’t figure it out.

He didn’t recognize the runes on the ring, and he had never seen a three-headed, six-armed monster before. His intuition told him that this was no ordinary object, but he couldn’t quite put his finger on what was wrong with it.

He tried to probe the ring with his divine sense, but his divine sense bounced back as if it had hit a wall.

After hesitating for a moment, David, as if possessed, separated a wisp of chaotic energy and slowly poured it into the ring.

As soon as the chaotic energy entered the ring, the ring suddenly lit up.

The bluish-gray jade body instantly emitted an eerie light, and the fine patterns on its surface seemed to come alive, flowing wildly.

Immediately afterwards, a roar exploded from the ring—

The roar was desolate and violent, like a howl that came from countless years ago. The sound was not loud, but it went straight into the depths of David’s soul, making his scalp tingle and even the fingers holding the ring tremble slightly.

The roar seemed to carry some ancient power, and at that moment, David felt a pang of fear—he hadn’t felt this way in a long time.

The little fire unicorn suddenly leaped off David’s shoulder, its fur bristling, baring its teeth and roaring at the ring, its flames crackling as if facing a formidable enemy.

David quickly withdrew the chaotic energy.

The ring’s light instantly went out, transforming back into the cool, bluish-gray jade ring. The surface patterns quieted down, as if nothing had happened.

But the roar seemed to still linger in my ears, and even the deathly silence seemed to grow even quieter.

David gripped the ring, remaining silent for a long time before muttering under his breath, “What the hell is this thing?”

He dared not try again.

The roar he just heard told him that it was something he shouldn’t mess with right now.

The three-headed, six-armed monster, separated by countless years, could cause such a commotion with just a wisp of chaotic energy—if it were truly awakened, who knows what monstrous disaster it might cause.

He carefully put the ring deep into his storage ring, glanced at the messy battlefield, put away all the beast cores, and stood up.

They didn’t find the old monster of Xuanxu, but instead stumbled upon a bloody battle, picked up a bunch of spoils, and also got involved with an evil ring of unknown origin.

“Never mind, if we can’t find it, we can’t find it. We’ll come back another day.”

David stretched and said, “If we don’t go back soon, those guys in the tower will probably be so anxious they’ll start tearing it down.”

He raised his hand, and the primordial chaos began to circulate, slamming a punch into the void barrier.

Sizzle—

A rift was torn open in the void. David didn’t linger; he stepped into the rift and disappeared into the vast void.

After an unknown amount of time, the view suddenly opened up before them, and the familiar aura of the Heavenly Dao rushed towards them.

We’ve arrived at the Twenty-Seventh Heaven.

David stood high in the sky, looking down at the continuous spiritual mountain range below.

The new Wanfa Heavenly Palace has taken shape, the mountain-protecting array is glowing with spiritual light, and the convoys of tribute from various sects are coming and going in an endless stream, presenting a prosperous scene.

A smile played on his lips, and with a swift movement, he descended towards the Demon Suppression Tower.

The jade ring he had stored in his storage ring flashed silently in a dark corner.

It went dark again.
