Extra Special—From Dawn Till Dusk

It was already past nine, but Wei WuXian still hadn’t returned. The paper lamp on the table was still lit. Lan WangJi stared at his faint aura, his eyes unblinking. A moment later, he stood up, walked to the entrance of Jingshi, and opened the wooden door.

After a moment of silence, he seemed about to step out when suddenly a strange crashing sound was heard from behind him.

Lan WangJi turned around and realized that the window had been open for some time without his realizing it, its shutters still swaying in the night breeze. A large bulge was sticking out from under the thin blanket on the bed. It seemed like something had broken through the window, rolled inside, and was now curled up inside, moving and stumbling.

After a moment of silence, Lan WangJi quietly closed the door. He returned to his room, blew out the lamp, closed the window, and climbed into bed. He lay down beside the large lump. He slowly pulled up the other blanket and closed his eyes.

A moment later, something large and cold suddenly slipped under the sheets. It hugged him, right to his chest, and exclaimed cheerfully, “Lan Zhan, I’m back! You should have welcomed me.”

Lan WangJi hugged the man, “Why are you so cold?”

Wei WuXian, “I’ve been outside, exposed to the wind for more than half a day! Lend me some warmth.”

So that’s why he was covered in grass and dust. He must have brought the Cloud Recesses juniors again to harass the beasts and monsters in the remote mountains.

Wei WuXian rolled around on the bed and his clothes were so dirty, but Lan WangJi seemed indifferent, despite his usual penchant for cleanliness. He tightened his embrace slightly, holding Wei WuXian even tighter.

After a while of warming up his body, Lan WangJi said, “Take off your shoes.”

Wei WuXian replied, “Of course.” Then he kicked his shoes off both of his feet before slipping back into the blanket to freeze Lan WangJi.

Lan WangJi spoke, his voice thin, “Don’t mess around.”

Wei WuXian, “I’m already in your bed, and you’re telling me not to mess around?”

Lan WangJi, “Uncle has returned.”

Lan QiRen’s residence was not far from Jingshi Lan WangJi. From the beginning, she did not like Wei WuXian. If he made inappropriate noises, the next day she would probably stomp her foot in anger, raging at Wei WuXian again.

But Wei WuXian pushed his knee between Lan WangJi’s legs, rubbing it against him passionately and naughtily to express his attitude directly through his actions.

After a moment of silence, Lan WangJi turned his body forcefully and pushed Wei WuXian down onto him.

The movement was so wide and the force so strong that both of them made a loud impact on the wooden bed.

“Slowly, slowly, slowly… Slowly!”

Lan WangJi pinned Wei WuXian to the bed, thrusting in with uncontrollable fervor, until his stomach was pressed tightly against Wei WuXian’s bare buttocks. Only when he couldn’t go any deeper did he stop.

Wei WuXian took a few deep breaths, shaking his head. Feeling a little afraid to move, he rolled his eyes and squirmed uncomfortably, wanting to move it a little, but Lan WangJi realized what he was trying to do and tightened his waist to move back in.

Wei WuXian replied with an “ah”, exclaiming, “HanGuang-Jun!”

Lan WangJi spoke after a moment of restraint, “You asked for it.” After a pause, he began to thrust.

Wei WuXian was pinned down tightly beneath Lan WangJi, his legs bent, his hair disheveled, and his cheeks flushed. Every time he moved, his body would lift upwards. Every time Lan WangJi entered, Wei WuXian would groan in submission. After a while of struggling, Lan WangJi finally couldn’t let it go on like this. He held back the heavy breath that was about to escape his chest, keeping his voice low, “C… Calm down.”

Wei WuXian reached out and touched his face. He felt a little strange—Lan Zhan’s thin face was clearly warm to the touch, yet it didn’t show the slightest hint of blush, remaining so white and handsome that he could barely control his racing heart. Only his earlobes were a light pink. He sighed, “Er-Gege, don’t you want to hear my moans?”

Lan WangJi, “…”

Seeing his appearance, too embarrassed to tell the truth yet too honest to lie, Wei WuXian could feel his entire body filled with unspeakable pleasure, so good that he wanted to swallow Lan WangJi whole right then and there. He continued, “Afraid my moans might be heard? Relax—just keep quiet.”

Lan WangJi’s chest rose and fell, his eyes slightly red. Wei WuXian urged, “Come on! Gag me and fuck me however you want. I won’t be able to make a sound even if you fuck me to death…”

Before he could finish, Lan WangJi leaned down and covered his lips.

After his mouth was shut, Wei WuXian’s four limbs crept up. The two of them rolled around on the bed in a tight embrace. The blanket had long since been thrown to the floor. In bed, Lan WangJi usually never changed positions often. After enduring it for almost an hour, Wei WuXian was already numb from his back to his feet, suspecting that he might be fucked like this all night. Seeing Lan WangJi’s unquenchable passion, he felt that it might actually happen. So, Wei WuXian took the initiative to turn over and sit on top of Lan WangJi. He wrapped his arms around Lan WangJi’s neck, riding him while nibbling on Lan WangJi’s earlobe, “Is it deep?”

The soft whisper felt warm and wet. Lan WangJi reached out and pressed his shoulder firmly.

Truly a deep plunge. Wei WuXian exclaimed. Lan WangJi hugged him back and rubbed his waist, “In?”

Wei WuXian still hadn’t recovered from his shock. His lips trembled for a moment. Before he could respond, he suddenly screamed again, his face contorted, “Ah! Wait! N-Nine shallow and one deep*!”

*TN: The phrase ‘nine shallows and one deep’ refers to a bedroom technique that I find quite easy to understand. The phrase itself is very common in China, and nowadays it’s used more as a joke than as serious sex advice.

In vain, he covered his stomach with one hand while the other gripped Lan WangJi’s toned but not overly muscular shoulders. He shouted at the top of his lungs, “Lan Zhan! Don’t you understand what nine shallows and one deep mean?! You, don’t, have to, always, be like that, like that…”

The last sentence was cut off by the push. Lan WangJi, “I don’t want to!”

Although he cried and wailed at first, begging for mercy in every possible way, in the second half of the night, after two rounds were over, Wei WuXian still wrapped his legs tightly around Lan WangJi’s waist, refusing to let go.

Lan WangJi’s body covered Wei WuXian’s, careful not to let his weight fall on Wei WuXian. The area where they met was still wet and slippery. Lan WangJi looked like he was about to rise, but with just a slight movement, Wei WuXian pulled his leg back, and the small part that had just been parted slipped back in smoothly.

Wei WuXian said lazily, “Don’t move. The wind is coming in. Let’s rest for a while.”

Lan WangJi listened and stopped moving. A moment later, he turned to Wei WuXian, “Don’t you feel uncomfortable?”

Wei WuXian put on a pained face, “Yes. It feels like it’s completely filled. Can’t you hear how pathetic my moans are?”

“…” Lan WangJi, “I’m going out.”

Wei WuXian immediately switched to another expression, his words honest, “I really like it when you fill me in like this. It’s really amazing.”

As he spoke, he suddenly stiffened. Lan WangJi’s face changed—even his breathing stopped for a moment. After holding it in for a long time, he finally answered hoarsely, “…Shameless!”

Seeing him almost going crazy, Wei WuXian burst out laughing and kissed him on the lips, “Er-Gege, what haven’t we done so far? What’s the point of being embarrassed now?”

Lan WangJi couldn’t help but shake his head. He whispered, “Let me out. You need to take a bath.”

Wei WuXian was already a bit tired. He replied absentmindedly, “I don’t want to take a bath. I’ll take a bath tomorrow. I’m really tired today.”

Lan WangJi kissed his forehead, “Go take a bath, or you might get sick.”

Wei WuXian was so exhausted that he couldn’t support Lan WangJi any longer. Finally, he let his weak limbs fall to the ground. Lan WangJi climbed out of bed and picked up the blanket spread on the floor, covering Wei WuXian’s naked body tightly. Then, he hung the clothes scattered around the room on the screen. He put on his clothes, quickly made sure everything was neat, and then went out to get a bath.

Fifteen minutes later, the nearly asleep Wei WuXian was lifted up and placed into a wooden tub. The tub was placed right next to Lan WangJi’s desk. After soaking for a while, Wei WuXian felt refreshed and patted the edge of the tub. “Don’t want to come with me, HanGuang-Jun?”

Lan WangJi, “Nanti.”

Wei WuXian, “Why later? Come in now!”

Lan WangJi glanced at him, as if pondering something. A moment later, he said, “We’ve been back for four days, and four Jingshi bathtubs have collapsed.”

That look made Wei WuXian feel like he had to protest to himself, “It wasn’t my fault that the last one broke.”

Lan WangJi placed the box of soap where Wei WuXian could reach it, his voice calm, “That’s mine.”

Wei WuXian splashed a handful of water onto his neck, making the red kiss mark even more obvious, “Yeah. It wasn’t my fault that time either. Actually, to be honest—you always ruin it. You haven’t been able to break this habit since our first time.”

Lan WangJi stood up. Upon returning, he placed a bottle of Emperor’s Smile in Wei WuXian’s hand before sitting down at the table, “Yes.”

If Wei WuXian had stretched his arm a little longer, he would have been able to scratch Lan WangJi’s chin. And indeed, that’s exactly what he did. Lan WangJi took out a few sheets of paper, all covered in words, and began to read them, writing down lines that resembled simple comments. Soaked in water, Wei WuXian opened the jar and took a sip before asking, “What do you see?”

Lan WangJi, “Night Hunting Records.”

Wei WuXian, “For the sake of the children? You weren’t the one taking notes, were you? I thought your uncle should have done it.”

Lan WangJi, “When Uncle is busy, I occasionally mark it.”

Perhaps because Lan QiRen was busy with other, more important work, this task was temporarily delegated to Lan WangJi. Wei WuXian picked up a few pages and flipped through them. “In the past, your uncle would comment on hundreds of characters after just a few lines before writing a summary at the end that was nearly a thousand characters long. I don’t even know where he found the time to write those comments. Well, your comments are pretty short, huh?”

Lan WangJi, “And isn’t that great?”

Wei WuXian, “Right! Short and sweet.”

Lan WangJi’s brief remarks were clearly not due to his frugality. He wouldn’t slack off in the slightest, no matter how simple the task. On the contrary, he was accustomed to being as concise as possible, both in words and in writing. Wei WuXian dunked his head in the water and didn’t resurface after a while, his hair wet. With one hand, he grabbed the soap and rubbed it into his hair, while the other hand picked up one of the notes from the table. Upon looking at it, he suddenly burst out laughing, “Who wrote this? There are so many mistakes—hahahahahahahaha, I didn’t know it was JingYi. You gave him Yi*.”

*TN: Refresher: Jia is A, Yi is B, Bing is C, and Ding is You Don’t Deserve to Be a Cultivator.

Lan Wangji, “Ya.”

Wei WuXian, “There are so many notes, and he’s the only Yi I’ve seen. Poor kid.”

Lan WangJi, “He talks a lot and is prone to mistakes.”

Wei WuXian, “What happens if you get Yi?”

Lan WangJi, “Nothing. Rewrite it.”

Wei WuXian, “He should be grateful. After all, it’s better than the punishment of standing upside down.”

Lan WangJi silently gathered the papers he had been fiddling with and smoothed them out before placing them in a neat pile to the side. Watching his movements, Wei WuXian felt his lips curl into a smile. He asked again, “What did you give SiZhui?”

Lan WangJi took out two bills and gave them to him, “Jia.”

Wei WuXian took it and examined it, “The handwriting is quite neat.”

Lan WangJi, “His work is logically organized and very precise.”

After flipping through the stack in his hands, he glanced at one on the table that hadn’t been marked yet. “You have to go through all of these? Want me to help you with some?”

Lan Wangji, “Ya.”

Wei WuXian, “I’ll mark the mistakes I see and comment on them, okay?”

He reached out and took the larger piece. Lan WangJi was about to take it back when Wei WuXian pulled his hand away, “What are you doing?”

Lan WangJi, “That’s too much. You should take a bath.”

Wei WuXian reached for the Emperor’s Smile again and took a sip, then picked up the brush. “I’m taking a bath. I don’t have anything else to do anyway. Reading the notes and essays these kids wrote is quite enjoyable.”

Lan WangJi, “You should rest after bathing.”

Wei WuXian boasted, “You think I look like I could fall asleep now? I think I’ll be fine with two more rounds.”

As he watched Wei WuXian hold onto the edge of the bathtub, carefully reading the notes and occasionally propping his elbows on the table to write, the candlelight reflected in Lan WangJi’s eyes seemed to flicker with warmth.

Although his words were somewhat bold, claiming he could play two more rounds and so on, it was hard for him not to feel tired, after a day of wandering in the mountains with the boys, playing around in bed for half the night, and marking up a stack of notes. After forcing himself to mark his piece meticulously, he threw it onto the table before diving into the water. Quickly but gently, Lan WangJi picked him up, dried him, and moved him to bed.

After Lan WangJi took a quick shower and climbed into bed, hugging Wei WuXian, Wei WuXian remained awake for a while, whispering faintly against his collarbone, “The children in your sect are quite good at writing essays. They’re just a little lacking when it comes to night hunting.”

Lan WangJi, “Mn.”

Wei WuXian, “But that’s no problem… I’ll make them study hard while I’m in the Cloud Recesses. Tomorrow… I’ll take them to destroy the mountain demon’s nest again.”

The one-legged mountain demon was strong and covered in black fur. He devoured humans like vegetables. If it were anyone else, the way he spoke would have made them think he was leading a group of snotty toddlers up to the roof to steal birds’ eggs.

The corners of Lan WangJi’s lips moved slightly, as if about to smile, “Today is another mountain demon?”

Wei WuXian, “Yes. That’s why I said they still have a lot of work to do. Besides, mountain demons only have one leg. They can barely escape from one-legged ones, so if they encounter a four-legged lizard, an eight-legged spider, or a hundred-legged centipede, wouldn’t they have to wait for their death… Oh, right. HanGuang-Jun, I’m out of money. Give me a little more, okay?”

Lan WangJi, “Just take the jade token to withdraw the money.”

Wei WuXian chuckled, “Besides being able to let me enter and exit the barrier, the jade token you gave me… can also let me withdraw money?”

“Yes.” Lan WangJi, “Did you damage the stalls or homes of passersby?”

Wei WuXian, “No… Of course not… I spent all that money because after a night of hunting, I took them to Hunan cuisine in Caiyi Town… The same cuisine you never agreed to, no matter how much I coaxed you… I’m so tired… Stop talking to me, Lan Zhan…”

Lan Wangji, “Ya.”

Wei WuXian, “… I told you not to talk… Even if you just say a word, I won’t be able to stop myself from answering… Okay, Lan Zhan, let’s go to sleep. I… can’t take it anymore… I really need to sleep… See you tomorrow, Lan Zhan…”

He kissed Lan Zhan’s neck, and soon fell into a deep sleep.

Everything was dark and quiet in the middle of Jingshi.

A moment later, Lan WangJi kissed Wei WuXian’s forehead gently.

He whispered, “Wei Ying, see you tomorrow.”
