Married at First Sight Serenity And Zachary York english, Indonesian
Chapter 107
Zachary tensed his facial muscles and gave Serenity a warning look.
“Mr. York,” Serenity said with a playful tone, “Can I kiss you?”
Zachary was taken aback. Did she have no shame? Asking a man such a question was beyond audacious.
“Your smile is gorgeous. It took my breath away. I just want to hold you and have my way with you,” Serenity continued.
“Serenity, you sure have some nerve.”
“My cheeks are right here,” she replied with a grin, patting her face. Zachary winced at her boldness.
“I only said that because we’re married. I mean, legally married, so it’s not a crime to kiss you.”
As Zachary took a few steps back, Serenity burst out laughing at his retreat. Zachary’s reaction was understandable; she had a history of surprising him, even touching his face unexpectedly.
Seeing his agitation, Serenity’s laughter only grew. Suddenly, Zachary closed the distance between them, pulling her into his arms. He dipped his head and sealed her lips with his own, silencing her laughter. Serenity’s giggles came to an abrupt halt.
Startled, Serenity’s eyes widened as she stared at Zachary’s intense face. She had only been teasing him because his smile was captivating. It never crossed her mind that he would respond so directly.
Zachary’s kiss was brief, more about stopping her aggravating giggles than about passion. He released her and pushed her out of his embrace. Flicking his finger against her forehead, he said, “That’s what you get for being smug.” His voice was rough but playful.
Zachary then, as if nothing had happened, sat down at the table and resumed eating his breakfast. Serenity was left speechless.
Running her fingers over her lips, Serenity stared at her husband, who was now calmly enjoying his meal. Who had the upper hand? It was clear that she had lost this round.
Zachary, feeling victorious, was as cheerful as the sun in the sky. He savored his meal, content with his unexpected win. He realized that in the game of love, shamelessness could be quite effective.
Serenity, too shy to retaliate with another kiss, took a seat opposite him, glaring playfully. Zachary found her reaction amusing. He had thought Serenity would have more experience and could teach him a thing or two. Instead, he found out she was just as inexperienced as he was.
On the day they signed the marriage papers, Serenity had mentioned a past relationship, but it had been eight years ago—probably her first love. In other words, Serenity, like him, was a blank slate when it came to romantic experience.
“Why did you prepare such a feast today? Is it to thank me for yesterday?” Zachary asked, glancing at the spread.
“Yes, Captain Obvious,” Serenity replied with a smile.
Zachary filled his plate with food and said, “I was helping both you and myself. You’re my wife, after all. It wouldn’t look good on me if anything happened to you. I’m glad you appreciate it. I enjoyed today’s breakfast.”
