Married at First Sight Serenity And Zachary York english, Indonesian
Chapter 109
Zachary stood at the door to the balcony, quietly watching Serenity for a moment before turning to leave for work. Serenity was unaware of his presence as he carried the packed lunch she had prepared for him.
“I’m off to work,” Zachary said as he exited.
“Drive safely,” Serenity replied kindly.
Zachary closed the door and made his way downstairs with the two containers of food. His bodyguard squad, scattered around in the greenery, noticed him descending but remained in their places, staring at him. None approached.
Zachary raised an eyebrow, puzzled. Had they failed to recognize him because he was carrying food containers?
“Sir,” Jim said, quickly stepping forward to take the packed food from Zachary’s hands. Without a word, Jim headed straight for the Rolls Royce.
The Rolls Royce soon drove out of the neighborhood, flanked by the bodyguards’ vehicles. Serenity, looking down from the balcony, saw the luxury sedans leaving in convoy, with Zachary’s national MPV trailing at the end. It was wise to give way to the expensive cars rather than risk an accident, as the repair costs would be burdensome for ordinary people.
The area must be one of the finest neighborhoods, with a resident driving a ten-million-dollar Rolls Royce. Serenity wondered how much Zachary had paid for their house. While Zachary worked as a senior executive at a major corporation, Serenity knew little beyond that. She hadn’t asked him about it, fearing that probing might lead him to retreat further into his shell.
After Zachary left, Serenity tended to her flowers, watering them before taking a seat on the swing. She took some time to read the netizens’ comments following her recent response.
Seeing that many were criticizing her relatives and defending her, Serenity felt a sense of relief. While some advised her to forgive and forget due to her grandmother’s frail condition, others were quick to support Serenity whenever such comments appeared. It was easy for people to suggest moving on, but walking in Serenity’s shoes made it clear that letting go was much more difficult.
After a brief rest, Serenity decided to visit her sister. Liberty was out grocery shopping with her son when Serenity arrived, so she called her sister and learned that Liberty wouldn’t be back anytime soon. Serenity then headed to the bookshop.
At the Coo’s office, Callum was enjoying a cup of coffee when he encountered Zachary, who had just entered the room. “Zack,” Callum greeted, noticing the boxes of packed food in Zachary’s hands. “Are you here to deliver breakfast to me?”
