Married at First Sight Serenity And Zachary York english, Indonesian
Chapter 117
Serenity tucked her phone into her pants pocket and was about to head back into the store when she saw her sister coming out.
“Liberty, where are you going?” Serenity asked.
“I’m going to get some ingredients to cook for you girls. Don’t order takeout for lunch. It’s not good for your health to eat too much takeout,” Liberty said.
“Seren, keep an eye on Sonny.”
Serenity didn’t stop her sister from going to get ingredients and cooking for them. She simply advised Liberty to be careful on the road.
Serenity hadn’t driven her new car to work and had ridden her e-bike as usual because it was convenient and fast. She wanted to avoid getting stuck in traffic during rush hour.
“Liberty, I’ll transfer some money to you,” Serenity offered.
She didn’t want her sister to use the food expenses her husband had given them, so she sent Liberty some money.
Liberty rode the e-bike to the market. She had enough of her own money to buy food for her sister.
After watching Liberty leave, Serenity returned to the store. Sonny was already familiar with the store and Jasmine, so he didn’t cry or make a fuss when his mother left. The little boy wandered around the store, touching the books and pens within his reach, his curiosity evident.
“Did your husband call?” Jasmine winked at Serenity. “He must have missed you to call you during work hours.”
“He called to ask if my money-hungry relatives had contacted me,” Serenity replied.
Jasmine said, “Oh, that’s only because he cares about you. Seren, you should consider a real relationship with Mr. York.”
“I do think he’s a good man after spending time with him, but we’ll see,” Serenity said. Zachary still kept his guard up around her and resisted her approach. She didn’t want to push too hard, so she decided to go with the flow.
Serenity reflected on the light kiss they shared that morning, surprised by the innocence of it. She felt fortunate because Zachary was so untouched in that aspect. It was rare for a man of his age to be so innocent. This also indicated that Zachary might be indifferent to relationships. No wonder his grandmother had to exert so much effort to set them up. Without Nana’s involvement and with Zachary’s temperament, he’d be lucky to get married by the age of fifty.
“Jasmine, what are some good gifts for men?” Serenity asked.
“Are you thinking of giving your man a gift?” Jasmine inquired.
“He’s helped me a lot, so I want to show my gratitude,” Serenity explained.
Jasmine replied enthusiastically, “I noticed my mother usually buys clothes, ties, watches, and shoes for my father. My father likes to drink, so my mother occasionally buys him a few bottles of fine wine.”
“I don’t know his size, and his clothes are all black. I suggested he change the color of his wardrobe, but he shot that idea down immediately. He seemed upset and told me not to worry about his wardrobe choices,” Serenity said.
Jasmine smiled. “Your man seems like a tough cookie, and wearing a black suit makes him look even more serious. He must be quite high up in his career, dealing with many peers.”
“Just think about what he likes and get him something that aligns with his interests.”
Serenity was at a loss. The problem was that she didn’t know what he liked.
“You could ask Grandma May for advice,” Jasmine suggested.
Serenity thought that was a good idea and decided to call Grandma May for guidance.
