Married at First Sight Serenity And Zachary York english, Indonesian
Chapter 118
Nana heard that Serenity was inquiring about Zachary’s hobbies and saw hope for the couple’s future. She happily shared details about her eldest grandson’s preferences, even including personal things like his favorite color of underwear. Since Zachary’s clothes were all tailored and delivered to the door once finished, Grandma May knew exactly what color underwear he preferred.
“Seren, Zachary doesn’t have many preferences, so you don’t need to overthink it. Just buy him some clothes. I’ll tell you his size,” Grandma May said.
“What if he doesn’t like what I bought?” Serenity asked.
The old lady smiled. “It’s the thought that counts. Whether he wears them or not is up to him, but I think he’ll definitely wear them.” Zachary might hide his true feelings, but he would still wear and show off the clothes his wife bought for him.
Even though Grandma May was no longer involved in the company’s affairs, she still had her ways of finding out what was going on in the office. Zachary had been proudly showing off the benefits of having a wife in front of Josh Bucham.
Encouraged by Nana’s advice, Serenity decided to buy two sets of new clothes and two ties for Zachary. She checked her wallet and realized she couldn’t afford to cater to his rare preferences extravagantly. She always remained true to herself and did things within her means, never pretending to be wealthier than she was.
After wrapping up her work at noon and having lunch, Serenity rode her e-bike to the mall to buy Zachary some clothes. On her way, she also took Liberty and Sonny home.
“Liberty, Hank might quarrel with you again when you get back,” Serenity warned. Earlier, when they were busy at the store, Hank had called Liberty, asking why she hadn’t cooked for him. Serenity overheard Liberty’s response and could imagine how angry Hank must be, given he was used to Liberty’s royal treatment all those years.
Liberty was silent for a moment before saying, “Since I’ve made this decision, I’m not afraid of facing him. If I ever get a divorce and need your help, you must assist me. But don’t worry, I’ll stand back up again.”
Liberty needed her sister for financial support, but she would prefer borrowing money rather than accepting it as a gift. When she was able to stand on her own feet again, she would repay Serenity.
“Liberty, don’t say that. Your business is my business. I’ll stand by you no matter what. Zachary also said that you can turn to him if you need help. He just doesn’t like dealing with Hank,” Serenity reassured her.
“Zachary is a good man. You should cherish him and manage your small family well. Don’t follow in my footsteps. My biggest regret is listening to Hank’s nonsense and believing that he would support me forever. That’s why I left my job and became a housewife. It turns out it was all a lie!”
“I’ll cherish him,” Serenity promised.
Serenity sent Liberty home and insisted on accompanying her upstairs. If Hank dared to be rough with Liberty, Serenity was ready to confront him.
A few minutes later, Liberty opened the door and entered the house with Serenity and her son, who had fallen asleep on the way.
“Where have you been? Why are you only back now? I thought—Oh, Seren! You’re here too,” Hank said, coming out of the kitchen with a spatula in hand. His face was extremely glum. He wanted to scold his wife, but upon seeing his sister-in-law, he swallowed his reproachful words.
“Hank, you haven’t had lunch?” Serenity asked knowingly.
Hank glared at Liberty, but she pretended not to notice and carried Sonny back to the room. Hank then complained to his sister-in-law, “Seren, look at your sister! All she does is take care of Sonny and doesn’t do anything else around the house. I have to cook for myself when I come back from work. What’s the point of having a wife?!”
Serenity was furious upon hearing this. It seemed Hank had married her sister to have a free nanny!
