“Masato, don’t be reckless!” Kikuchi shouted, holding back his master.

“That’s very strange,” Wu Bolin muttered. “What made them so scared?”

Just as Wu Bolin was racking his brains for a loophole, a thunderous sound was heard from the sky.
Two giant beams of light pierced through the thick clouds, drawing closer towards them.
The American transport plane finally arrived.
In just two hours, the war machine was speeding from South America to the skies of Antarctica.
Kikuchi looked up and exclaimed in surprise, “Oh no, it’s an American plane!”
“Can the plane still fly here in this weather?” asked Wu Bolin.
“Civilian aircraft can’t, Masato. But any aircraft that dares to fly over Antarctica during a winter storm must be a military aircraft!”
Wu Bolin was shocked. “American soldiers? For what?”
“They must have come to support McMurdo Station,” Kikuchi’s face paled. “They’re definitely after us.”
Wu Bolin cursed harshly. “Isn’t this crazy? Why are they suddenly so nervous over a few snowmobiles?”
Before they could finish their curses, the sight in the sky made their blood run cold.
The rear cargo door of the plane opened. Objects fell, followed by the deployment of parachutes.
“It’s the airborne troops!” Kikuchi shouted hysterically.
“The United States has gone mad! The Antarctic Treaty prohibits militarization, yet they’re dropping elite troops right here!”
The next second, a giant parachute—much larger than a human’s—opened in the sky, carrying a heavy load hanging below it.
Kohei Kikuchi’s legs went weak instantly.
“Masato… the enemy is not playing around. They even deployed heavy weaponry!”
The Decision to Retreat for the Sake of a Secret Base
Wu Bolin was very angry. He clenched his fists tightly.
He had been driving for days through the ice, and right on his doorstep, America was sending a battalion of troops.
In this situation, a frontal attack would be suicidal.
Wu Bolin realized that if the enemy was already on alert, controlling the research station would be pointless. America would continue to send endless waves of troops. He couldn’t fight one country alone.
“What do you think we should do now?” he asked Kikuchi.
“Run!” Kikuchi replied without hesitation. “We must evacuate now and avoid direct confrontation.”
“Are you saying our trip was in vain?!” Wu Bolin snapped.
“Masato, it’s better to be in vain than to die foolishly! What I’m afraid of is that their goal isn’t just to protect McMurdo. If they chase us and capture us, the location of Wu Han Palace will be revealed!”
Hearing the name of his base called, Wu Bolin came to his senses.
The Wu Han Palace was his foundation. He could accept the failure of expansion, but he could not allow his main base to be destroyed.
“Quick! Turn back now!” Wu Bolin ordered firmly. “We can’t lose any more!”
The snowmobile immediately braked suddenly, turned around on the slippery ice, and sped away from McMurdo Station.
