Forced Takeover and Death Message

Frustrated with the prisoners’ silence, the US Military took drastic measures.

Elite Navy SEALs begin to assemble at McMurdo Airfield. Military transport aircraft are readied.

Their goal was clear: To raid Japan’s Showa Research Station.

Seeing the war preparations, Goro Watanabe panicked and ran to the US commander.

“I’m coming!” Watanabe shouted. “I want to go to Showa Station to secure our national assets!”

The American commander looked at him coldly and shook his head.

“The request was denied. From this point on, the US Military assumes full control of this incident.”

“You are not to interfere. Remain silent in McMurdo,” the Commander ordered firmly.

Watanabe exploded in anger. “Why?! This is Japanese business! It’s our station, our staff, our territory! Why can’t we enter?!”

The US commander smiled sarcastically.

“Because you yourself asked for our help,” he replied sharply.

“We’ve sent planes, tanks, and special forces. It’s expensive. So it’s only natural that we take over. Be thankful we didn’t just dump you back in South America!”

Watanabe was almost in tears from frustration.

He was treated like an illegal immigrant, not a diplomatic ally. America’s attitude was authoritarian and condescending.

Late Protest

Watanabe immediately called his superiors in Tokyo via satellite phone.

Upon hearing the report, Tokyo officials were furious. Japan’s national pride had been trampled upon.

“This is too much!” shouted the boss over the phone. “The United States has crossed the line! I will lodge a strong protest with the Cabinet and the Foreign Ministry right now!”

“Hold them off, Watanabe! Don’t let them take over our station!”

“I can’t, sir!” Watanabe’s voice trembled. “They’re fully armed. The Marines are ready to go. I have no power here!”

“Wait for news from me!” the boss concluded.

Watanabe hung up the phone with trembling hands. He hoped that high-level diplomacy could stop America’s arrogance.

However, fate said otherwise.

Just as he put down the phone, panicked screams were heard from the direction of the isolation cell.

Panic at McMurdo Station when Kohei Kikuchi is found hanging in his holding cell
A tragic end: Kikuchi chose death to keep his master’s secrets buried forever.

An American soldier ran out shouting in English.

“MEDIC! CALL THE DOCTOR!”

Watanabe turned his head in surprise.

“KIKUCHI KOHEI HAS HANGED HIMSELF!”

Watanabe froze. The key witness and main scapegoat in the case was dead.

As per Wu Bolin’s final orders, Kikuchi had taken the secret to the grave, leaving America and Japan in eternal confusion.
