So, everyone was patiently waiting for the Japanese press conference to begin.
Ten minutes passed quickly.
The large screens at the venue also switched to showing footage from the Japanese press conference.
Interestingly, Japan didn’t notify any media outlets to attend this time; there was only one person in the entire press conference room, their spokesperson.
The man looked a little embarrassed. Before going on stage, he adjusted his glasses, took a deep breath, and then stepped onto the stage.
After taking the stage, he spoke his first words in Japanese: “First of all, allow me, on behalf of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology of Japan, to express my apologies to people around the world, as our problems have caused hardship and confusion to people around the world, and I am deeply sorry.”
After finishing speaking, he walked down from the stage and bowed deeply to the camera.

After a long moment, he stood up, adjusted his glasses, and returned to the podium. He spoke very seriously: “First, I want to inform everyone of something: a Japanese research team stationed in Antarctica was suspected of committing an act of collective treason some time ago.”
There was no audience at the Japanese press conference, so his words didn’t elicit an immediate response. However, at the White House press conference, all the media reporters present were amazed and shocked.
The Japanese spokesperson continued, “Regarding the alleged treason, I need to provide an explanation first, because people abroad may not be aware of it, but people in China should remember that some time ago, our icebreaker suffered damage while transporting a new group of members of a scientific expedition to Antarctica, causing the icebreaker to be unable to return and leaving both the old and new expedition members stranded in Antarctica.”
“At the time, we informed China about this. Fortunately, our Antarctic expedition team had sufficient supplies to support them through the winter. Since then, we have been closely monitoring their situation and have been contacting them daily to ask if they are experiencing any problems or difficulties there. Their response has always been that everything is fine.”
At this point, the Japanese spokesperson continued, “During this period, our back-end systems indicate that almost all large polar vehicles and equipment have not been activated. These devices are being stored as planned, awaiting the end of the winter season.”
“However, to our surprise, we suddenly received a fuel level signal from our icebreaker a few days ago, indicating that our icebreaker had suddenly consumed a large amount of fuel.”

“So we asked the US military for help in investigating. The investigation revealed that all of our heavy vehicles were exploring the Antarctic continent, and even our helicopters were constantly surveying the Antarctic continent.”

“But because we don’t have the technical capability to deploy troops to Antarctica in winter, we asked the United States for help.”
After finishing his speech, the spokesman stepped back down from the podium, once again showing his dedication by bowing deeply to the cameras.
Then he returned to the podium and continued, “At our request, the US military deployed troops and arrested members of our research team suspected of treason.”
“We allowed them to interrogate the team members. To our surprise, one of our team leaders admitted to treason but refused to explain his true motives for the treasonous research in Antarctica.”
“Out of a sense of responsibility to Antarctica and the world, we implored the US military personnel on site to use torture to extract confessions from the team members, as you see in the video.”
“Here, on behalf of all members of the research team under the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology and their families, I apologize to the people of Japan and the world.”
“While our intentions were good, our actions were indeed highly inappropriate, causing harm to the individuals involved and creating problems for the general public. We will resolutely prevent such incidents from happening again in the future.”
Then, he stepped off the stage for the third time, once again demonstrating his dedication and skill. At this point, his work was complete.
