Wu Bolin’s Last Command: Die for the Secret
After the escape plan was ready, Wu Bolin asked one more thing.
“Kikuchi, what will happen to you if you get caught?”
Kikuchi shook his head resignedly. “I’m not sure, Master. But we’ll most likely be taken to a US base for interrogation.”
Kikuchi, who is more familiar with modern history, knows the true nature of America.
“The Americans must be very curious about what we’re looking for here. Just like during World War II, they recruited Nazi scientists for technology. Now, they’ll want to know the secrets behind this crazy expedition.”
“If we don’t speak up, they won’t let us go back to Japan easily.”
Hearing that, Wu Bolin’s gaze turned cold. He had no compassion, only calculating profit and loss.
“Kikuchi, you loyal subordinate. I have one last task for you.”
“Please speak, Master! I am willing to die for you!” Kikuchi replied firmly.
“Listen carefully,” said Wu Bolin.
“I’ve hypnotized the others, they’re safe. But you… you have to take the lead role.”
Wu Bolin gave his cruel instructions, “I want you to confess to the Americans and the Japanese. Tell them that YOU ARE the mastermind behind all this . Tell them that all the members of the expedition only obey your orders.”
Kikuchi nodded obediently. “Ready, Master. I will do it.”
“If they ask why,” Wu Bolin continued, “tell them you’re obsessed with finding gold. You believe there’s a giant gold mine beneath the Antarctic ice, and you’re exploiting a government mission for personal gain.”
Kikuchi hesitated a little. “Masato… that reason sounds ridiculous. They probably won’t believe it.”
“No problem,” Wu Bolin interrupted coldly.
“Even the smartest person can’t interrogate a corpse.”
Wu Bolin looked closely at his loyal follower’s eyes.
“The best way to keep a secret is to take it to the grave. After you’ve given that false excuse… Find an opportunity to commit suicide. ”
“Let your true motives remain an eternal mystery. Once you’re dead, they’ll stop digging deeper.”
The order was a death sentence. But for the brainwashed Kikuchi, it was a sacred order. He would become the scapegoat, bear all the sins, and die to protect his cowardly master.
Wu Bolin smiled faintly. His plan was perfect.
He would jump out, disappearing into the blizzard, while Kikuchi would distract the world with his death.
